Serendipity Mirissa is one of the best places to live in Mirissa. Ruwan is an amazing manager who will go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Stay here and have some of the greatest vacation time.

Ruwan was also ready to help set up a greay proposal event for me - and he arranged everything amazingly .

It was a lovely cozy place. Staff was very friendly and amazing. As you go out and sits they silently bring you water to keep you hydrated. Their service was really good.
Room was bit small. Yet very clean, cozy and comfortable.
Food was really good. I personally prefer if they had a wider range though.

All in all loved the stay, would probably return as well.

An amazing stay by the beach

We stayed at Serendipity Mirissa for three nights, and had an amazing time. The location alone is stunning, waking up to the sound of waves, going to the deck and looking at the Indian Ocean . The rooms were good as well with nice decorations.

Even though the property has its own imperfections but Ruan, the manager, and his incredible team, made the stay perfect for us. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. Ruan went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect — offering great recommendations, arranging whatever we needed for our 4 year old daughter, and always being available with a friendly smile. His professionalism and warmth truly elevated our experience.

Cheers to him and the team, anyone who is looking forward to come to Mirissa should defiantly go there.

Просто восторг. Еда нереально вкусная, брали суп и горячее (баранина бомба, стейк из тунца с пюре двойная бомба). Иногда приезжали сюда просто провести время и погулять по пустому пляжу. Персонал 1000/10, Еда 1000/10, Атмосфера космос. Обязательно нужно посетить !!!!

Our stay at Serendipity - Mirissa
was pleasant. The staff were friendly and welcoming. However, the food portions, menu variety, and room quality could be improved for a better overall experience.

Wir sind so glücklich, dass wir dieses Hotel gefunden haben. Es ist ein kleines Hotel mit nur 6 Zimmern, die sehr schön eingerichtet sind. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick und es war ein Traum. Wir haben ein Begrüßungsgetränk bekommen und unser Gepäck wurde von den netten Mitarbeitern hochgetragen. Das Hotel ist so wunderschön gestaltet und hat einen Pool und eine Terrasse, sowie einen direkten Zugang zum Strand, wo Liegen und Sonnenschirme stehen. Wir haben jeden Tag frische Strand Handtücher bekommen. An dem gesamten Strand waren wir die meiste Zeit komplett alleine! Von den anderen Hotelgästen hat man nicht viel mitbekommen. Das Frühstück war total lecker und die Mitarbeiter haben wirklich einen tollen Job gemacht. Wir haben auch eine private Cooking Class gemacht und haben leckeres Essen gekocht, welches wir danach verspeisen durften. Der Hotel Manager hat uns einen netten Tuktuk Fahrer organisiert, der uns zu local Spots gefahren hat. Mirissa Zentrum ist in ca 5 min mit dem Tuktuk erreichbar. Es war ein pures Urlaubsgefühl und der Strand ähnelt dem der Malediven. 100%ige Empfehlung!

It was a really nice stay . I really loved the location the beach is right in front of you. the rooms are spacious and cozy and has a great balcony experience. I loved the services especially the manager and the workers were always available for us. My sister fell sick and they really helped me. You can go for it wothout second thoughts

The place is nice, a bit far from the city center but that’s not a problem since we can use a tuk-tuk.
The place is clean and quiet, and the staff are amazing.
It feels very safe.
The pool is relatively small, and the beach in front of the hotel is not suitable for swimming

What an absolute gem of a boutique hotel we found for a 3 night stay and because it exceeded our expectations, we extended our stay.
Ruwn, the manager , was outstanding and you can see he’s the training the team well. The food including the breakfast was fresh and delicious. As a family of 4 we would have no hesitation in recommending this venue for its food.
We asked on one day about culinary classes that could be recommended and without hesitation, Ruwn offered to host our own personal culinary class at the hotel with his Executive Head Chef leading the team and Ruwn making sure it exceeded our expectations.
I think it has one of the most stunning beach fronted hotels I’ve ever stayed and I genuinely hope my review is useful and other guests get to meet the lovely manager Ruwn and his team of rising stars

We had the absolute pleasure of spending 4 unforgettable nights at Serendipity Mirissa, and from the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warm hospitality, stunning beachfront location, and exceptional experiences on offer.

One of the standout highlights of our stay was the incredible cooking course. It was not just informative but truly hands-on and immersive — a perfect way to connect with Sri Lankan culture through its vibrant cuisine. We learned to prepare a variety of traditional dishes, all bursting with authentic flavors, and the team made the whole experience both educational and fun. It was a definite trip highlight!

The meals at Serendipity were consistently excellent. From fresh breakfasts served with a smile each morning to delicious lunches and unforgettable dinners, every meal was a treat that suited everyone.

The hotel itself is ideally located right on the beach, offering unbeatable views to wake up too and the soothing sound of the ocean around the clock. Our rooms were all beautifully kept, with thoughtful details and a relaxed, airy vibe that made it easy to unwind.

But what truly makes Serendipity Mirissa special is the staff — kind, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making your stay perfect. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy every single day especially Ruwan the general manager who clearly loves his job and is excellent.

We had the most incredible stay at this rustic beachfront gem in the south of Sri Lanka. If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty with warm hospitality and understated luxury, this is it.

The setting is pure magic – tucked away on a quiet stretch of golden beach, fringed with palm trees and the sound of waves as your constant soundtrack. The accommodation strikes a perfect balance: charmingly rustic, yet thoughtfully finished with high-quality touches that make you feel truly cared for. Everything from the hand-carved wooden furniture to the crisp linens felt intentionally curated.

What really set our stay apart, though, was the team. Attentive without being intrusive, always smiling, and genuinely passionate about what they do. A standout highlight was the Sri Lankan cookery course they arranged just for me and my family. It was more than just a class – it was an experience. From visiting the local market to learning about spices and traditional cooking methods, we felt fully immersed. We cooked (and devoured) dishes like coconut sambol, hoppers, and a fragrant fish curry, all under the kind and expert guidance of the in-house chef. Even our kids were engaged and had fun getting their hands dirty!

If you’re after an escape that feels authentic, restorative, and rich in local flavour – with a team that truly goes the extra mile – I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. We left with full hearts, happy bellies, and memories we’ll talk about for years.
